From Ulrikka S. Gernes

December 6, 2016

Not a single leaf exists on a single

tree that doesn’t turn in the wind to reveal

an image of your face, not a single tree exists

on a single globe that doesn’t grow wildly,

wonderfully from your sleeping breath,

not a single freckle exists on your only

back that doesn’t have a sister star afar;

your luminous skin is connected to the sky

above my night, and this moment, wedged in.
