publication: cutthroat magazine

July 24, 2013

this is my first ‘international’ (read: u.s.) publication credit, so it’s pretty exciting. it’s the last poem in the book, and they completely changed my line breaks (a bit of a tooth-grinder, if i’m honest, though it reads in a different [not necessarily bad] way now) but it’s thrilling. considering the poem was a finalist for cutthroat magazine’s joy harjo 2012 poetry contest.

it’s a prose poem and it’s about northern ontario.  of course it is! and i had a lot of help from my writing groups – both in person and online – and friend-editors, so a big thank you goes out to them. i am now, officially, an internationally published poet. a day of great and grandiose excitement, here.
